More Adventures in Diction
This is ESPN broadcaster Jimmy Dykes, with an aura about him; Jimmy Dykes would like to apologize for his odor.
It seems Mr. Dykes has some things he'd like to say to the NIT Selection Committee. Overheard during the waning moments of ESPN2's telecast of the first-round matchup between Georgia and Fresno State:
The NIT has always had a great tradition, and an aroma about it, and it's even bigger today.
Having just watched 40 minutes of what passes for basketball in the municipalities of Athens, Ga. and Fresno, Calif., I can understand Mr. Dykes' desire to aerate the building.
It could have been worse; he could have been covering Stanford-Louisville.
Labels: diction, Jimmy Dykes, the NIT smells like discharge and burnt hair
